About Safewalk
Safewalk is a free service provided to the University of Saskatchewan community through a partnership between the USSU (University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union) and Campus Protective Services. Our mission is to promote a safe and inclusive campus environment by ensuring that everyone feels secure when accessing university services—day or night.
Students, faculty, and staff can request:
- An in-person Safewalk by calling 306-966-7233
- A virtual Safewalk from Campus Protective Services or a friend via the U-Safe App
Safewalks are available 24/7 to and from locations on or near campus.
What is the U-Safe App?
The U-Safe App was created to help members of the University of Saskatchewan community feel safer on campus. Developed collaboratively by the USSU and Campus Protective Services, the app offers several key safety features:
- Friend Walk: Share your location with a trusted contact as you travel.
- Protective Services Walk: Request a virtual escort from Campus Protective Services.
- SOS Alert: Instantly share your real-time location with a chosen contact.
- Work Alone: Set check-ins and safety reminders while working or studying alone.
