Noushin Sikder

My name is Noushin Sikder, and I am excited to be serving as the Help Centre Coordinator for the University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union (USSU). I am currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences at the University of Saskatchewan and am passionate about supporting students throughout their university journey.

As Help Centre Coordinator, I look forward to helping create a welcoming and supportive space where students can find resources, ask questions, and connect with opportunities on campus. I am passionate about supporting students and helping them feel connected to the campus community, and I am excited to be part of initiatives that bring students together and make campus life a little brighter.

When I am not studying or working, you can usually find me watching anime, hunting for hidden gems while thrifting, trying out new cafes, or spending time with friends and family. I love exploring new interests, meeting new people, and finding fun ways to get involved in the community.

I am always happy to hear from students. Your voice matters, and whether you want to ask a question, share an idea, provide feedback, or simply stop by for a cup of coffee and a chat, my door is always open. I look forward to connecting with you and helping make your experience at the University of Saskatchewan a positive one.

The Help Centre is a warm, friendly positive space that is open to everyone. We have comfy couches and friendly people always willing to chat. We’re here to help students with whatever they may need. Whether you need someone to talk to, a free phone, access to the exam file, or any other assistance just stop by and check us out.

The USSU Help Centre is committed to providing information, referrals and personal support to undergraduate students. We strive to provide these services in a confidential, informed and safe environment.

The Help Centre, through support, referral and information services, provides undergraduate students with knowledge and direction to assist them in their growth as individuals.

Programs & Services

Peer Support

USSU Help Centre Peer Support program offers support and referrals regarding sexual health, queer issues, academic issues, suicide, pregnancy and other student concerns. They are available by appointment and on a walk-in basis during centre hours.

Peer Support is provided by trained volunteers in a non-judgmental environment and may share other student support resources.

International Student Support Group

The International Student Support Group is a welcoming space for students from around the world to connect, share experiences, and support one another.

Exam File

The USSU Help Centre Exam File has over 1000 exams from a wide variety of courses. The Exam File requires student participation to remain up to date. Students are encouraged to bring old exams to the Help Centre.

To request an exam, please email help.centre@ussu.ca with the course name, number and the instructor and we will let you know what is available.

Men’s Mental Health Support Group

This support group is a safe, judgment-free space for men to talk openly about mental health, emotional well-being, and life challenges. Whether you’re dealing with stress, isolation, relationships, or just need someone to listen, you’re not alone. The group encourages honest conversations and peer connection, challenging the stigma around men expressing vulnerability.

Training

The USSU Help Centre, in collaboration with community partners, offers on-campus training opportunities including safeTALK, Naloxone, and Mental Health First Aid. These sessions equip students with essential skills to respond to mental health and substance use challenges in a supportive and informed way.

USSU prep Hub

Planning for grad school or professional exams? The USSU Help Centre’s Prep Hub is here to support your journey. We offer access to past prep materials and resources for exams such as the MCAT, LSAT, GMAT, and NCLEX.

Other Services

The USSU Help Centre offers many other services to help students on a daily basis. We offer a free phone, free condoms, candy, a kitchenette, maps, transit info, friendly faces, a positive space and so much more.

Help Centre volunteers have access to detailed knowledge on a variety of topics. If you are looking for help or resources regarding campus services, academic help, suicide and self harm, peer support, food security, housing, or community services, come to the Help Centre.

The Help Centre offers free condoms, a free phone, free campus and city maps, and pamphlets and information regarding a variety of topics for your convenience.
