The Executive Committee communicates the wishes of USC to the entire organization through projects, policies and awareness initiatives. Through the Senior Managers and administration team, the Executive Committee helps the USSU maintain a wealth of relevant services that enhance the student experience. Hi everyone, I’m Emma Wintermute, (she/her) a queer settler on Turtle Island and entering into my fourth year of an undergraduate degree at the University of Saskatchewan. I’m pursuing a Double Honours degree in Gender, Sexualities, and Social Justice Studies and History. My academic interests include community-led research, social movements, feminist and queer theories, human rights, and women’s labor histories. I’m passionate about advancing equity and social justice through community, academic, and student-led initiatives. I am also a student researcher with the Social Innovation Lab for Gender and Sexuality and serve as a public member on the City of Saskatoon’s Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Accessibility Advisory Committee. As President of the University of Saskatchewan Students’ Union, I’m committed to fostering collaborative approaches to advocacy, student governance, and community.

I am always eager to listen, learn, and take action to support students, so don’t hesitate to reach out if you have ideas about how the USSU can help create change!

• Oversee all affairs of the Union;

• Liaise with other student associations, unions, and organizations in Canada;
• Participate in individual student loan appeals;
• Ensure that all governance policy documents are up to date and relevant.
• Responsible for federal, provincial, and municipal government relations;
• Participate in government committees regarding student issues.

My name is Owen, and I’m extremely excited to serve as your Vice President of Operations & Finance for the 2025-2026 academic year! I am in my final year of a B.A. (Honours) degree in History. In addition to my major, I have completed a minor in Political Studies and a certificate in Peace Studies.

I find great enjoyment in helping others and have considerable experience working with student groups. For instance, I served as President of the Arts & Science Students’ Union, the largest student group at USask. I helped lead the ASSU through one of its most successful years, measured by both student and faculty engagement. I look forward to continuing this work in the USSU!

Outside of school, you can find me browsing for records to add to my collection, playing horror video games, or spending time with my dog, Basil.

My name is Norah Jacob (she/her), and I am your VP Academic Affairs at the USSU for the 2025-2026 year! I’m currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in math.

Advocacy has always been central to my time at university. Over the past two years, I’ve served as a Member of Student Council for St Thomas More College and as a member of University Council.

Through my experiences in university, I am aware of the structural and personal challenges students face in accessing a fair and supportive education. I am committed to uplifting student perspectives, especially those that can often be underrepresented in decision-making spaces. I believe in an equitable, accessible, and inclusive academic environment; one that reflects the diverse needs of students on our campus.

Whether you’re navigating a confusing academic policy, having issues with your classes, or just want to better understand your rights as a student, I’m here to help however I can!

Outside of university, I love reading, dancing, and hunting down the best soup spots in Saskatoon – recommendations are always welcome!

My name is Emily and my pronouns are she/her. I’m in my final year of a Bachelor’s of Biomedical Science, majoring in Cellular, Physiological, and Pharmacological Sciences. I’ve always loved being involved on campus and have been an active volunteer at the USSU Women’s Centre and Pride Centre for the last few years, as well as Vice President for USask Menstrual Project. When I’m not on campus, I’m usually spending time with my friends, roaming around the city in search of a good cafe, restaurant, or thrift spot. I also enjoy hitting swing dance nights at the PAC and going for walks near the river when the weather is nice. I’m super excited for the upcoming year, and can’t wait to see more of our amazing campus community!
