uFood is a customizable emergency food hamper created by the USSU to meet the unique dietary needs of students at the UofS. Our pantry is stocked with food options and hygiene items that students can choose from to create an emergency hamper that suits their needs.

Students are limited to four hampers in the Fall term, four hampers in the Winter term, one hamper for the Spring term, and one hamper for the Summer term. Any applications beyond this limit will not be filled. Students must be registered in classes when they are accessing hampers.

The Saskatoon Food Bank and Learning Centre provides off-campus support for students experiencing food insecurity.

Students holding valid identification may register in person at the Saskatoon Food Bank office at 202 Avenue C South to request an emergency hamper.

The Food Centre organizes food drive events to collect non-perishable food items and donations for food security initiatives. These food drive campaigns create a collaborative environment to raise awareness about food insecurity while giving back to community organizations.

Keep a lookout for upcoming events, where student groups can participate and compete to collect the most donations!

The USSU Food Centre manages a Fresh Food Market to offer healthy food options at reasonable prices to the campus community during the Fall and Winter semesters. In partnership with CHEP Good Food Inc., fresh fruit, vegetables, staple dry goods, and spices are available for purchase.

The Fresh Market can be found 10:30am-3:00pm Tuesday-Friday on the main floor of Place Riel near the USSU Service Desk. This Market program is operated by volunteers! If you are interested in volunteering with the Food Centre, please fill out the volunteer application form.

Food insecurity is the inability to acquire sufficient food to sustain yourself or your dependents or the uncertainty that you will be able to do so.
